Tungsten cobalt (WC+Co) cemented carbide (YG)
The main components are tungsten carbide (WC) and binder cobalt (Co).
The brand is composed of "YG" ("hard, cobalt" Chinese phonetic initials) and the percentage of the average cobalt content.
For example, YG8 shows an average WCo = 8%, and tungsten carbide cobalt carbide is the other tungsten carbide. It is composed of WC and Co. It has high flexural strength, good thermal conductivity, but poor heat resistance and wear resistance. It is mainly used for processing cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Fine grained YG cemented carbides (such as YG3X and YG6X) have higher hardness and wear resistance than YG3 and YG6, but lower strength and toughness at the same cobalt content.

42CrMo is the conventional heat treatment process for the cutter body of the material: 840 degree oil quenching, +360400 tempering.
35CrMnSi is the conventional heat treatment process for the cutter body of the material: 880 degree oil quenching, +380430 tempering.
Conditional manufacturers can also adopt 880 C heating insulation + 280320 C isothermal quenching, and then air cooling heat treatment process. The Si Mn Mo series meta bainitic steel is made by normalizing + tempering heat treatment at 880 degrees C. The Quasi-Bainite structure composed of bainite, ferrite and retained austenite can be obtained after heat treatment, which has good strength-toughness matching and high wear resistance.
